What does a steel building cost in Colorado?
Scope drives it more than size does. A delivered kit, an erected shell, and a turnkey building with a slab can describe the same structure at very different prices — which is why quotes you find online vary so wildly. Site work, septic, and utilities are quoted separately after we walk your property, because they are the most site-specific costs on the job.
What is the difference between I-beam and cold-form?
Both are pre-engineered and bolt together on site. I-beam rigid frame uses heavy structural steel and is the right call for larger spans, taller eaves, heavy snow and wind loads, and commercial or industrial use. Cold-form uses lighter gauge steel and is more economical for smaller residential and agricultural buildings, with a practical clear-span ceiling around 50 feet. Do I need a permit for a steel building?
It depends on your county and the building’s size and use. Most counties require a permit for any structure over a certain square footage, and every county has wind and snow load requirements your building has to meet. Colorado’s 64 counties all have different rules. We help you figure out exactly what is required for your specific parcel before you commit to anything.
How long does a steel building take to build?
Erection of most buildings takes 3 to 10 days depending on size. The longer part is lead time — steel buildings are manufactured to order, which runs 8 to 14 weeks from order to delivery. Add permitting, which varies by county, and you are usually looking at 4 to 6 months from contract to move-in. We give you a realistic timeline at the start, not an optimistic one.
Do I have to talk to a salesperson to use this?
